Buying disposable items does two things, financially speaking:
Some disposables we think of as “convenience items” but really, how convenient is giving money away? Just imagine you would use your socks once, throw them away, buy another pair. Hey, it’s more convenient, right? Rrrright….
Here’re some items you can save on.
- Paper towels: buy rags or better yet, use old stuff you have laying around
- Ziploc bags: two words; plastic containers. Don’t have them? Don’t buy new, buy them at the thrift shop!
- Swiffer mops: hello? They actually found a way to make you pay for a mop over and over again?!
- AA batteries: go for rechargables
- Kleenex: ehhhh…. have to disgaree with the author here. He suggests buying hankies and washing them. No thanks. But to use that box of Kleenex for guests instead is a good idea — meanwhile inside the house you and I can use toilet paper. Soft, strong, absorbent. Hey, what do you want more?!
- Paper plates: go figure…
